Cop dramas are often full of brutal policing and this film is no exception. But director Gopichand Malineni successfully manages to add new elements to it and it doesn’t sound like the same old wine anywhere. The film begins with a happy Ravi Teja, who is enjoying life with his wife (Shruti Haasan) and son. The family track sounds super adorable and the romance between the married couple is well written.
But the romance remains short on screen and the film gradually prioritizes the plot that shows how ruthless Sankalu is in dealing with criminals and goons in his jurisdiction. It is good to see a cruel woman on screen in Jayamma (Varalakshmi Sarathkumar) as it is rare to find an antagonist like her in Telugu cinema. Katri has a special track in the film which explains why the antagonist is no less than a hero in this film. Nothing happens outside the box in the first half, but you still enjoy it as people clap and whistle in fights and group dialogues. The other notable and scary part of the film is the brutal Vatpalam gang, who drink donkey blood to keep alive the cruelty inside them. Before writing the track Gopichand seems to have done a lot of research because once upon a time such people were present in that area. The first half ends with a heroic interlude that is whistle-worthy.

Like any other commercial film, the protagonist’s downfall begins after overwhelming domination of his screen and Pothuraju finally finds a simple way to curb the culprits. Shruti Haasan, who completely disappears from the screen after the opening few minutes, makes a powerful comeback with a non-bad twist in the second half. Yes, it seems irrational that who cares about such things in commercial cinema after all! The climax fight is shot well and the action sequences are on top. There is only a slight disappointment that this Ravi Teja starrer misses his trademark comic scenes. More than his songs, Thaman once proves that he can change scenes on screen with his background music.

When it comes to performance, Ravi Teja returns to his arena and proves why he is called Maas Maharaj. His toned look is a reflection of his dedication and he still gives a tough competition to his younger counterparts. Despite very little time on-screen, Shruti Haasan’s talent is well utilized. Samuthirakani is intimidated to an extent and points towards his villainous antics. The rest of the artists also do their work well.
Every solstice remains incomplete without a big entertainment and Krack makes a great start to the year. Apart from igneous flaws, this is a complete watch and more, it proves why the theater experience is still relevant.
