Actor Prakash Raj owns a company called Duet Movies, and Jatish Verma is his brother-in-law. The whole issue relates to intellectual property rights.
Varma and Dixit approached Zee Studios to make the film and an MoU was signed between them on 10 March 2016. As per this MoU, Dixit and Verma were paid over 4,25,00,000 taxes by Zee Studios. This MoU was not signed by Prakash Raj, and now Zee Studios has alleged that Prakash did not deliberately execute the said no, hence “in connivance and collusion with Verma and Dixit” to calculate the rights of Zee Studios for.
According to Zee Studio, the company was not shown any agreement between Prakash Raj and Jatish Verma and Sameer Dixit. However, he was told that Prakash Raj would direct the film, and given the relationship between the Singham actor and Verma – brother-in-law, the former was also credited as the producer in the film.
On 1 August, Zee Music Company launched Prakash Raj’s first Hindi film, Tadka, as the song “Khanch Le Kash”. Ali Fazal, Tapase Pannu and Shriya Saran – the film’s lead actors – and its music crew were tagged in the post. When we (the cast) were called in to shoot the final part, we made it clear to the producers that we would do this only when our dues were over. But he later requested us to shoot, promising to pay. I was working on another project at the time and had to leave for three to four days for this film. We received the check the day after it was shot, but it bounced. Since then I have received several WhatsApp messages from my producer Jatish Verma, who promise me that he will pay but it is yet to happen. My tweet was not against Zee, but against these people who made the film, ”said Ali.
The film, which also stars Nana Patekar, is produced by Jatish Verma, Sameer Dixit and Zee Studios. When Mirror producer reached out to Jatish, he said, ‘The release date of the film is not finalized yet.

Only the final payment, which is made after promotion, remains. The rest has been approved on time for every member associated with the film. “
Asked why Zee Music Company released the song, Jatish said, “The song was released without our permission. We share a great relationship with Anurag Bedi, the head of Zee Music Company, who disassociates himself with the project by Zee Studios, even though he has invested time and energy into it. We also want to move forward with Zee Music, but we are yet to sign it as the legal battle between Prakash Raj and Zee Studios (above the film) is going on. “
Asked if he would promote the film, Ali said, “My heart is no longer in this film. Taps is a friend and I can speak for him. I don’t think any of us would promote it Will be interested. “
